Google Meet Outage: What’s Happening?
Google Meet, a widely used video conferencing tool, is experiencing a widespread outage. Thousands of users in India and some other countries are unable to join meetings, with many reporting server connection errors and “502 error” messages. The issue has affected both personal and professional virtual gatherings, including online classes and business calls.
User Experiences and Reported Issues
According to outage tracking website DownDetector, around 65% of users could not access Google Meet. About 33% faced server connection problems, while 2% reported video quality issues. Many users also complained about login difficulties and failed attempts to connect to scheduled meetings. The surge in reports began around midday, disrupting various online activities.
Google Response
As of Wednesday afternoon, Google has not issued a detailed statement on the cause of the outage. The company’s status dashboard confirms service disruptions but does not provide a timeline for resolution. Users are advised to check the dashboard for updates and try joining meetings again after some time.
What Users Can Do
During the outage, users can try refreshing the page, checking their internet connection, or waiting for Google to resolve the issue. For urgent meetings, consider switching to alternative platforms until Google Meet is back online.
