    The third-generation Honda Amaze has officially become one of India’s safest compact sedans, securing an impressive 5-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests. This milestone is a major win for consumer safety, placing the Amaze among the segment leaders. Scoring $28.33$ out of $32$ in AOP and a strong $40.81$ out of $49$ for Child Occupant Protection (COP) (resulting in a 4-star COP rating), the Amaze underscores its safety commitment. With standard features like 6 airbags, ESC, and ISOFIX across all variants, this article breaks down the detailed crash test results and compares the Amaze safety credentials with its key market rivals. 

    Honda Amaze 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

    The third-generation Honda Amaze has received a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, making it the second sedan and second compact sedan to achieve this distinction. The Amaze 5-star adult occupant protection (AOP) rating comes from scoring 28.33 out of 32 points. In the child occupant protection (COP) test, it scored 40.81 out of 49 points, earning a 4-star rating.​

    Test Results and Safety Features

    Adult Occupant Protection

    • The Amaze scored 14.33 out of 16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, offering Average to Good protection for the driver and Good protection for the front passenger.

    • In the side movable deformable barrier test, it scored 14 out of 16 points, with Marginal protection for the driver chest area.

    • The side pole impact test was rated as OK.​

    Child Occupant Protection

    • The Amaze scored 23.81 out of 24 points in the dynamic test, with just 0.19 points deducted for minor injuries to the 18-month-old child dummy.

    • It received full marks for protecting the 3-year-old child dummy and for child restraint system installation.

    • The vehicle assessment score was 5 out of 13 points.​

    Standard Safety Features

    All six variants of the third-gen Honda Amaze come with 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, ESC, ABS, rear parking sensors, and seat belt reminders as standard. Mid-spec variants get a rear camera and blind spot monitoring, while the top-spec has an ADAS suite.​

    Comparison with Maruti Dzire

    The Maruti Dzire, the first sedan tested by Bharat NCAP, also received a 5-star AOP rating with a slightly higher score of 29.46 out of 32 points. In COP, the Dzire scored 41.57 out of 49 points, earning a 5-star rating, compared to the Amaze 4-star rating with 40.81 out of 49 points.
